Stem Cell Therapy
Youthful Cells. Powerful Repair.
Mesenchymal stem cells from ethically donated umbilical cord tissue, processed to AATB standards and delivered directly to the source of your pain.
The Basics
What Is Umbilical Cord Stem Cells?
Umbilical cord stem cells are a category of mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) derived from tissue donated after a healthy, scheduled C-section delivery. The umbilical cord, which would otherwise be discarded, is one of the richest and youngest sources of regenerative cells available.
Unlike stem cells harvested from an adult patient's own bone marrow or fat tissue, umbilical cord MSCs are exceptionally young and highly viable. They retain a degree of regenerative potency that adult tissue simply cannot match, which is especially important for patients over 50, whose own stem cell reserves have naturally declined.
Every umbilical cord product used at Sound Regenerative Medicine is processed in an FDA-registered tissue bank, screened against the standards of the American Association of Tissue Banks (AATB), and tested for sterility, infectious disease, cell count, and viability before it is released for clinical use.
The result is a regenerative product that delivers what you need most when you need it: a large, concentrated population of youthful repair cells, placed precisely where your tissue has been damaged.
Process
How It Works
The journey from sourcing to treatment, each stage designed to deliver safe, potent regenerative care.
Ethical Donation
Tissue is collected only after scheduled, healthy C-section deliveries with full informed maternal consent. No fetal or embryonic cells are involved.
Donor Screening
Donor mothers undergo comprehensive medical and social history screening, following FDA and AATB guidelines for tissue donation safety.
Laboratory Processing
Tissue is processed in an FDA-registered tissue bank using sterile techniques to isolate mesenchymal stem cells and other regenerative components.
Infectious Disease Testing
Every batch is screened for HIV, hepatitis B and C, syphilis, HTLV, CMV, West Nile virus, and other transmissible conditions.
Potency & Viability Verification
Cell counts, viability percentages, and growth factor profiles are measured and documented before release. Inferior batches are rejected.
Clinical Delivery
The final product is shipped to our clinic under tightly controlled cold-chain conditions and delivered by precise injection at your appointment.

Why Patients Choose It
Benefits
What makes Umbilical Cord Stem Cells appealing compared to traditional pain management approaches, and why it may be worth considering before surgery.
Youthful Cell Population
Unlike adult-derived stem cells, umbilical cord MSCs retain a high level of regenerative potency regardless of your age.
No Harvest Required
You don't need a painful bone marrow or fat harvest procedure, the cells come from donated tissue, ready to use.
AATB-Standard Screening
Every batch is tested for sterility, viability, and a comprehensive infectious disease panel before release.
Anti-Inflammatory
MSCs release signals that help down-regulate chronic inflammation while simultaneously supporting tissue repair.
Immune-Privileged
Because umbilical cord cells are immune-privileged, there is no need for donor-recipient matching and rejection reactions are extremely rare.
Rich Biological Signaling
Cells arrive with a full complement of growth factors and cytokines that signal surrounding tissue to begin the repair process.
Your Experience
What to Expect
A clear picture of your procedure, from the moment you arrive to the weeks that follow.
Your Procedure Day
Arrive for your appointment, check in, and meet with Manju to review the plan one final time. The injection itself takes just a few minutes, the appointment runs 45 to 60 minutes total including preparation and aftercare instructions.
Initial Response
A mild ache or soreness at the injection site is normal, this is your body's inflammatory response beginning the repair process. Most patients manage with ice and rest; we ask you to avoid ibuprofen and NSAIDs, which can blunt the healing cascade.
Early Activity
Light walking and gentle daily activity resume within the first few days. We generally recommend avoiding high-impact exercise, heavy lifting, and anti-inflammatories for the first two weeks so the biological repair process can proceed unimpeded.
Clinical Check-In
You return for your first follow-up. This is usually when patients begin to notice meaningful improvement, reduced pain, better range of motion, and increased confidence in the treated area.
Continued Progress
Tissue remodeling continues for weeks beyond the initial healing window. Most patients experience their maximum benefit somewhere between three and six months post-treatment, with gains that often continue beyond that.
Is This Right For You?
Is Umbilical Cord Stem Cells a Good Fit?
Umbilical cord stem cell therapy is most appropriate for patients with chronic musculoskeletal pain from joint arthritis, partial tendon or ligament tears, and degenerative conditions that haven't responded adequately to conservative care, physical therapy, oral medications, or cortisone injections.
It is often considered by patients who have been told surgery is their next option and who want to exhaust non-surgical alternatives first. It is also a consideration for patients who simply aren't good surgical candidates due to age, health status, or personal preference.
That said, it isn't right for everyone. Conditions involving complete structural failure (like a fully ruptured tendon) or advanced bone-on-bone arthritis may require a different approach. Your consultation is where we figure this out together, honestly and without pressure.
